Hello! Welcome to Picky by the Pound.  This blog contains helpful information to assist in that journey to a healthier lifestyle – including recipes that will help users stay on track without depriving them of flavor, as well as a play-by-play description of my own journey.

I decided to start this blog now, rather than at the end, in order to share the entire journey. Being transparent is of the utmost importance to me. I want everyone to know, without a doubt, that everything you are experiencing is normal and you are not alone.

Who/what is Picky by the Pound? It’s inspired by my own experiences throughout my life as a picky eater. I’ve always struggled to find a healthy and balanced way to eat and still enjoy food.

But this blog is not just for the picky. The Tools for Success section includes tips, tricks, and education that will help anybody be successful. All my recipes can be adjusted to fit any palate.

There is a Product Recommendation area, as well.  This will include information about products I have tested in my own home, with my own family. This blog will never recommend a product without testing it first. If I don’t believe it is a good product, I will not encourage anyone to spend hard-earned money on it.

Every recipe posted on my blog has been created and tested in my own kitchen. I am not a professional chef or photographer. What you see is what you get. I will not post a pic of a heaping plate of food and lead you to believe you can eat it all. I try very hard to only post the actual serving size. I want you to KNOW what you are getting. At the end of each recipe is a ‘Personalize it’ section. In this section, I post ways of changing the recipe to fit into you and family’s needs. I believe every recipe can be customized.

Feel free to look around. The menu is at the top, while comments, archive, search and sign up is at the bottom of the page. I do weekly updates so to stay up-to-date with the latest information.  It would be best to sign up for email updates – then everyone is sure to get the latest of everything I have to offer, including occasional giveaways! 😉

Thank you so much for being here. I want you to know that this isn’t a journey you have to go through alone, there is a whole community out there to support you. I hope that my experiences and research over the past 13 years can benefit you on your journey.
